Our team of specialists will be happy to advise on the latest visa requirements for British and Irish passport holders. If you don't have a British passport or your passport has been endorsed in any way, please check with the relevant embassy (details are below).

We advise that you must have at least 6 months' validity on your passport on the date you return to the UK. In most cases, you must have a return flight ticket to the UK when entering an overseas country.

Bali

A visa is required for British nationals and can be obtained from the embassy in London. Typically, the cost of a visa is $25 and available on arrival.

Cambodia

A visa is required for British nationals and can be obtained form the embassy in London, or visitors arriving by air can obtain a visa for stays of up to 30 days on arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, Phnom Penh or Siem Reap International Airport, Angkor (subject to change at any time). Currently approx $20. A passport photo is required.

Malaysia

A visa is not required by British Nationals visiting Malaysia for leisure for period of less than one month (subject to change).

Philippines

A visa is not required by British Nationals visiting for leisure for stays of less than 21 days provided you are in possession of a passport (with 6 months validity remaining) and a return ticket to the UK.

Thailand

A visa is not required by British Nationals visiting for leisure for stays of less than 30 days provided you are in possession of a passport (with 6 months validity remaining) and a return ticket to the UK.

Hong Kong

A visa is not required by British Nationals visiting for leisure for stays of less than 30 days provided you are in possession of a passport (with 6 months' validity remaining) and a return ticket to the UK.

Singapore

A visa is not required by British Nationals visiting for leisure for stays of less than 30 days provided you are in possession of a passport (with 6 months validity remaining) and a return ticket to the UK.

Myanmar

A visa is required for British nationals and can be obtained form the embassy in London. Typically, the cost of a visa is £14, although this is subject to change.

Vietnam

A visa is required for British nationals and can be obtained form the embassy in London. Typically, the cost of a visa is £38, although this is subject to change.

Laos

A visa is required for British nationals and can be obtained at the point of entry. Two passport sized photographs are required (bring from UK). The cost of the Laos visa is currently approx US$30, payable in cash only (travellers' cheques are not accepted) - please note that the exact cost in clean, untorn bills is required by the authorities - defaced or ripped bills will not be accepted. Passports should have six months validity beyond intended length of stay. Travellers must be able to show a return onward flight ticket and a confirmed hotel reservation.
