This tour combines the best of both worlds if you like the relaxed atmosphere of the beach and the excitement of discovering culture at its rawest. You will spend time in Vietnam's cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, taking in museums, markets and pagodas. You will see spectacular coastlines; the most impressive being the UNESCO accredited Ha Long Bay, a series of thousands of islets set in emerald waters. You will also get the chance to chill out on Phu Quoc Island for a few days.

Hanoi - Arrival
Pick up at Noi Bai airport and transfer to hotel. Take a cyclo tour (1 hour) in the Hanoi ancient quarter.

Ha Long
Enjoy a morning city tour to visit some of the city's attractions including the fascinating Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (except for Monday and Friday) and Quan Thanh pagoda on the shores of Truc Bach lake. This pagoda dates from the 11th century and is said to protect this region from outside invaders. Visit Ngoc Son temple in the centre of modern Hanoi. Driving through Hanoi old quarter, you will have time for shopping at Dong Xuan market. After lunch, we will visit the Temple of Literature, which is regarded as the first university in Vietnam. Proceed to Ha Long bay, one of Vietnam's greatest natural wonders and recognized as a World Natural Heritage site by UNESCO in 2000.

Hanoi
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, take a cruise on the emerald green waters of Ha Long. Among the 3,000 spectacular limestone islands, visit grottoes and floating villages. The cruise ends with a fresh seafood lunch on board the boat. Transfer back to Hanoi after lunch. In the evening, enjoy a water puppet performance - unique and famous in Vietnam.

Hue
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Noi Bai airport for a morning flight to Hue, the ancient capital of Vietnam. Pick up at Phu Bai airport and transfer to the city. Take a boat trip on the romantic Huong (Perfume) River to visit Hue's best-known religious site, Thien Mu 7-story pagoda and Minh Mang King's Mausoleum.

Hoi An
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945 and then on to the Dong Ba market. After lunch, leave Hue in the afternoon for Hoi An. Arrive in Hoi An in the late afternoon.

Have breakfast at your hotel. Take a half day tour in Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries with its architecture and relaxed lifestyle that has changed little over the years. Take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit former merchants' houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colorful market.

Da Nang
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to visit My Son sanctuary which is graphically illustrated by the remains of a series of impressive tower-temples located in a dramatic site that was the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom for most of its existence. Proceed to Da Nang.

Ho Chi Minh City
Have breakfast at your hotel. Take morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Pick up at Tan Son Nhat airport and transfer to hotel. Visit War museum, Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral & General Post Office.

Cu Chi
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Cu Chi, passing paddy fields on the way. Here you will have the opportunity to witness how rice paper is made and to explore the amazing labyrinth of tunnels used by the guerrillas during the war. Return to Ho Chi Minh City, then visit Ben Thanh market and Thien Hau Pagoda in the bustling China Town.

Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast at your hotel, take a full day trip to the watery world of the Mekong Delta, just a few hours by road from Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival at around 10:00, board a motorized boat for a journey to Cai Be floating market. See how river life goes on, trading between merchant ships and local farmers. We walk through the village streets and watch locals making manioc chips. Cruise through the secluded canals where we stop at a local house of the area to enjoy seasonal fruits and lunch before our boat takes us to the Mighty Mekong, where we will cruise to other islands for walking, and visiting fruit orchards. Lunch will be served at a local house. Back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Phu Quoc Island
Have breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for a flight to Phu Quoc Island, the largest island in Vietnam, which is also part of an archipelago consisting of 22 islands and islets. Phu Quoc is called the Emerald Island because of its natural treasures and infinite tourism potential. Pick up by hotel's shuttle bus. You are free to do what you like for the remainder of the day.
