Hong Kong Island sits just off the Chinese mainland, separated from Kowloon by Victoria Harbour. It is the second largest island in the territory and the beating heart of Hong Kong's historic, political and economic life. To get this complex island into some kind of perspective, jump on a green double-decker tram and travel across the north shore from Shau Kei Wan to Kennedy Town then ride the Peak Tram up to Victoria Peak for stunning views in every direction. Away from the myriad shopping and nightlife opportunities of the north coast, the rest of the island has a much more gentle character, on display in towns like Stanley and Aberdeen, fine beaches such as Shek O and Deep Water Bay and the country parks of Tai Tam and Pok Fu Lam.

Hong Kong Island Panoramic Orientation
Why not hire a car and drive by Wanchai, (well-known destination for sailors) to reach Victoria Peak for a breath-taking panoramic view of the bustling harbour, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. From Victoria Peak, continue to Aberdeen village to see a multitude of fishing junks and floating restaurants moored there. Pass by the scenic resort areas of Repulse Bay and Deep Water Bay and if you have time, visit Hong Kong's largest jewellery factory where artists create prize-winning designs using semi precious stones.
Kowloon and New Territories Sightseeing Extravaganza
Once you've settled into Kowloon, head to Tai Po Market, which is a rural-style market, with a large choice of fresh produce, daily necessities and electronics on display. Why not continue on to Lok Ma Chau, a vantage point where you can look across the Pearl Estuary to glimpse the remarkable skyline. From there, visit the Tsang Tai Uk, (the original settling place of the Tsang Clan), an outstanding example of a fortified village. If time permits, we recommend the Wong Tai Sin Temple, which is the largest and most impressive in Kowloon.

Join in the excitement and action from a private visitors box inside the members' enclosure, placing bets while enjoying a buffet lunch.
Take in the City on the Water with a Harbour Night Cruise
Onboard a traditional junk, you'll enjoy the open-bar hospitality, and see the fantastic night views of Victoria Harbour. Cruise to the colourful Western District, once a busy waterfront-trading centre.
