Booking Conditions
Holidays booked through Farawayholidays.co.uk are governed by Farawayholidays Terms and Conditions. These are as below.
Should you require any clarification of these Terms and Conditions, please ask a Farawayholidays representative at the time of making your booking.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Insurance
It is a condition of booking with every tour operator that you have adequate insurance cover. Such insurance will ensure that you are properly covered against unexpected cancellation charges, medical costs that might be incurred while you're away, loss of money, or belongings, or personal liability claims. Please note that the cover offered by most credit card companies is not normally adequate for package holiday or holiday flight bookings.
If you require insurance cover, Farawayholidays will be pleased to arrange it at the time of booking, though you are free to make your own arrangements.
Date of cover
Clients are covered from the date that the insurance is paid, normally at time of booking.
Insurance Warranty
- Prior to and at the time of effecting the insurance if purchased through Farawayholidays you must confirm:
- That you are not aware of any reason why the holiday should be cancelled or curtailed;
- That no person to be covered by the insurance policy is receiving or awaiting treatment as a hospital in-patient;
- That no person is travelling against the advice of their doctor or for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment or where a terminal prognosis has been given;
- That if you or any other member of your party has received treatment as a hospital in-patient during the twelve months prior to booking you/they have obtained medical opinion as to the advisability of taking the holiday;
- You will advise the company if any of the above arise after taking this insurance.
Correct spelling of names, titles
Both first names, surnames and titles of those travelling should be correctly given at the time of booking. Changes cannot be made at a later date without extra charges being incurred, and may be treated as a cancellation in some cases. Please note too, that correct ages are required for insurance cover within the following bands: (Under 3) (3-18), (Over 65).
Costings
All costings are subject to final confirmation as on the Tour Operator invoice. Errors and omissions are excepted. Children's discounts are all subject to the correct age of the child being given as at the last date of the holiday.
Passports
All clients must be in possession of a full 10-year passport. You MUST inform Faraway Holidays if you are travelling on a British Subject's Passport. Persons over 16 on day of travel must have their own passport. On a family passport the lead name must travel. Clients must check the expiry date on their passport and ensure that it is valid prior to travelling with at least 6 months left to run on the return depending on the country you wish to visit.
Visas
The following applies to EC passport holders. Visas are required to be purchased in advance for certain countries, including Egypt and India. Other countries require tourist single entry visas to be purchased on arrival. If you are not travelling on an EC passport, other rules may apply. Please check with Faraway Holidays for advice or contact the embassy of the country you're travelling to. It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate visas for the destination you intend to visit.
Flight timings
All flight times are local and in 24 hour format. Please check you most up to date itinerary to confirm your flight times. Occasionally airlines may change flight times at short notice. While abroad we strongly recommend that you reconfirm your return flight times 72 hours before your due return date. Faraway Holidays can not be held responsible for any changes in flight times once you have left the UK.
Medical advice
Please ensure that you ask a doctor for any medical advice applicable to the countries you will visit.
Special requests
Fararway Holidays will be pleased to note any special requests i.e. vegetarian meals, low floors, double beds etc but these are requests only, and can not be guaranteed. If any member of the party require assistance at the aiport or have any medical requirements, Faraway Holidays miust be made aware of them at the time of booking.Flight timings
All flight timings are provisional and could be subject to change. You will be informed of any major change should they occur.
Payment
For bookings made outside of 10 weeks before departure, a deposit, insurance premiums and any ancilliary items will be payable at the time of booking. The balance is usually due 10 weeks to departure. However, in some instances the balance may be due earlier than this. For specially discounted flights and holidays full payment may be due at the time of booking. You will be advised of this at the time of booking. For departures within 10 weeks of departure, full payment must be made at the time of booking.
Credit and debit card payments
For all bookings, credit card charges are as follows: MasterCard or Visa - 2%, American Express/Diners Club 2.5%
There is no charge for debit card transactions
Please note: The lead or booking passenger must be over the age of 18 to book a holiday.
Cancellations
Cancellation must be in writing by lead name and sent to Faraway Holidays, 5th floor, Sun Alliance House, 166-167 St Helens Road, Swansea, SA1 4DQ, fax (01792) 462981 or e-mail sales@farawayholidays.co.uk.
Cancellation Charges
For bookings made outside of 10 weeks before departure, a deposit and any insurance premiums will be payable at the time of booking. The balance will be due at least 10 weeks prior to departure.
For departures within 10 weeks of departure, full payment must be made at the time of booking.
If you cancel your holiday you will be subject to the following charges, unless informed otherwise at the time of booking:-
Cancellation 10 weeks or more from departure:- Loss of deposit
Cancellation 70-42 days before departure:- 40% of holiday cost
Cancellation 41-22 days before departure:- 60% of holiday cost
Cancellation 21-08 days before departure:- 80% of holiday cost
Cancellation 07-00 days before departure:- 100% of holdiay cost.
Other service charges
Faraway Holidays may make the following charges in addition to any airline, ground arrangement or ancilliary charges.
Amendment: £10 per person for amendments to booking.
Cancellation: £10 per person except when cancellation charge is 100%, no charge will be made.
Delivery prices
The price of delivery of your tickets are included in the price, except where the tickets are allocated 'Ticket On Departure'. In this case you will be advised if there is a charge for this at time of booking as the charge varies depending on the airline.
Data Protection Act
Faraway Holidays is registered under the above act. To progress with any enquiries we need your Name, Address and Telephone number. This information is stored and used in accordance with the above act.
